Work History
Anna has worked in the public sector and non-governmental organisations, such as Oranga Tamariki, Corrections and Family Works and Enliven, working alongside individuals aged 0-99 years, their families and/or caregivers.
As a Child and Family Psychologist, Anna works alongside children, adolescents, parents, caregivers, and grandparents who have experienced a range of difficulties including mental health, developmental, behavioural, and those related to trauma, both current and historical. As a Psychologist with the East Christchurch Kaumatua Service (Enliven), Anna was fortunate to extend her Scope of Practice to include work with older people who were experiencing a range of challenges including mental health, physical well-being, and trauma related to both current and historic experiences. She has a particular interest in developmental, complex, and intergenerational trauma, including family and sexual harm.
Anna is an ACC approved provider for Sensitive Claims for treatment.
Approach
Anna takes a person-centred, ecological, and systemic approach to working alongside individuals at different ages and stages of their lives. She uses a range of evidence-based treatment modalities including, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Motivational Interviewing and Symbol and Sand Tray Therapy.
Anna is passionate about understanding and working with the many systems which surround each individual, to build greater understanding and empathy around the effects of trauma on the layers within the system, and throughout the lifespan. As a Cook Island born, New Zealand raised practitioner, Anna seeks to intertwine her own experiences growing up in a whāngai family with her passion for blending Pasifika and Māori models of practice throughout her work alongside clients at all ages and stages of their life journey.

Bachelor of Arts with major in Psychology and Education
