Currently Quin works 3 days per week as a counsellor, at the Health Centre of Ara Institute of Canterbury Ltd. Prior to this she had worked at the Christchurch Women’s Prison and with Pegasus Health as a Brief Intervention Counsellor Mental Health Clinician. Previously her roles had been as a counsellor at Relationship Aotearoa, and a counsellor at the Salvation Army Oasis Centre for Problem Gambling.

Quin has been living in Christchurch for more than three decades and was originally from Beijing. In Beijing she trained as a nurse and worked there for six years.
