Dan has over 23 years of experience supporting people in their recovery journey. Since qualifying as a social worker in 2006, Dan worked in the USA and NZ in health care and child protection.

In the last decade, Dan has worked at the CDHB/Te Whatu Ora with people of all ages and in various capacities: clinical social work lead, therapist, trainer, duly authorised officer, clinical supervisor, and case manager.

Dan’s areas of experience and interest include: clinical supervision, work with refugees, migrants, youth offenders, and people who experience trauma, psychosis, BPD, BAPD, substance use or dependence, OCD, eating disorders, ADHD, ASD, FASD, FND, and anxiety and mood disorders. Within his clinical practice, Dan draws on a wide range of therapy modalities including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
