Experience and Approach
Alison has gained a lot of experience and knowledge throughout her work history working alongside families and individuals in teaching, social work and counselling roles within the field of well-being and mental health. Alison has been working as a Sensitive claims Counsellor since 2019.
Alison believes each client is unique bringing their own individuality and experiences, so incorporates working from a holistic approach focusing on healing both the mind and body. Alison supports clients to become the best version of themselves according to their needs in a safe and welcoming environment. Alison can offer a range of modalities such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Solution Focused, Creative Art Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Inner Child Healing Work, and Somatic breathing and exercises.
Alison has a particular focus on Wellbeing, Self Care, healing trauma, and PTSD.
As a counsellor, Alison enjoys learning about a person’s story and how she can share and support their journey to well-being, offering a welcoming and safe non-judgmental environment. Alison can engage well with people and work at their pace from a strengths-based perspective, helping to shift their blocks using a range of tools. Alison undertakes a range of training and learning each year to be able to offer new modalities within her practice.
