About the Therapist
Anneke Beardsley is an Adventure Therapy Clinician, and is ACC Registered to provide individual and group therapy sessions. She is a Social Worker, with fifteen years experience in therapeutic and mental health roles. These include working with young people in specialist foster care, working with children and families within school settings, and therapeutic group work with women.
Utilising Solution-Focussed, Person-centred, and Strength-based modalities and theories, developing a strong and safe relationship with clients is of great importance to her. She firmly believes that each of us is the expert in our own lives, and therefore strive to ensure that we are talking about, and working on, things that are of importance and relevance to the client. She will ask for feedback every session to ensure that this service continues to be useful.
She believes strongly in the healing and health benefits that come from a connection with te Taio (the Natural world). Participating in therapy takes a lot of courage, and she believes that a warm and compassionate approach, as well as a trauma-informed approach, is important to allow us to adventure together, and to help clients feel a greater strength as one faces life’s challenges.
