Work History
Gill has worked in the mental health area for over 20 years, starting out working with inpatients in hospital settings, and then in child protection services. For the last 15 years Gill has worked in a range of community social service agencies, most recently in a primary health organization as well as for a community agency providing low cost counselling services.
Experience
Gill has worked in a range of roles in the mental health field. This includes as a Support Worker, an Occupational Therapist, a Social Worker, and for the last 11 years as a Counsellor. Gill has worked across the age range including with children, young people, adults and families. Her preferred models of practice, are client centred, strengths focussed, and incorporates mindfulness techniques.
Gill has experience in providing counselling for a range of issues including trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, and stress.
