Work History
Before working with ACC and individuals with sensitive claims, Olga has worked for Health Care New Zealand and in the Centre for Learning, Integration and Managing.
Throughout her career, she has mostly worked with people with disabilities, brain trauma and mental health who have exhibited challenging behaviours including physical/verbal aggression, sexualized behaviours, social withdrawal, addictions and conduct behaviours.
Experience
The goal of Olga’s practice is to consistently understand and safeguard the welfare of clients and their support groups by reducing negative impacts on the client’s quality of life. Olga has specific expertise in working with children and adolescents. When working with young people, she takes account of the developmental level of children/young person and she is able to identify each child/young person’s specific needs incorporating the wider family and whanau’s context as required.
In addition, areas of special interest include post-traumatic stress disorder; long term and short term consequences of sexual, emotional and physical abuse; impact of early attachment on human’s development; disabilities ( e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Syndrome).
Olga has been in clinical practice in New Zealand for 5 years with training in behavioural sciences, applied behavioural analysis and psychological practices. Olga can provide assessments and treatments for adults and youth with symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, stress, guilt, trauma, post-traumatic stress, addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviours, attention deficit and/or hyperactivity, and social withdrawal. Olga uses several modalities including Positive Behavioural Support, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, behaviour modification, Solution-Focused Therapy, and person-centred counselling approaches.
